KIRK-VVINDEYER MATCHES By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, January 10. “I am not here for golf this time,” said Dr. Nigel Smith, of Sydney, who arrived by the Awatea to-day. Dr. Smith, who will be remembered by New Zealand golfers who have played in the Kirk-Windeyer Cup matches, which seem to have become a dead contest, said that while the golfers of both countries enjoyed the interchange of visits, it was a trip that took some financing, and as this was a matter rather beyond the reach of the members of teams, it seemed as if the contest would have to be dropped.
