CARRIED £21,250 ABOUT
CLUB PORTER’S LOSS NEW YORK, December 29. The amazing case of a £5-a-week athletic club porter, who always carried £21,250 on his person, has just been disclosed by the loss of his fortune. A newspaper advertisement offering a reward of £2500 for the return of £21,250 was the clue which led to the unfolding of the story. Tire advertiser, Henry Klidzi, said that for four months he had carried this fortune in bank notes on his person. On Friday he lost it while loading a garbage truck. He explained that he inherited £77,500 from his Russian father, but that most of it disappeared in a stock market crash. Therafter, he decided to carry the remainder with him, rather than trust it to a bank.
