EWES KILLED

DESTRUCTIVE DOG By Telegraph— Press Association AUCKLAND. January 7. Sheep worrying by dogs is again causing the authorities at Cornwall Park much concern, and during the week there has been a repetition of previous destructive raids on the large flock of ewes there. Last night six ewes were killed and a number injured. On Thursday of last week four ewes were killed, and when investigations were made 20 wounded ewes were found. A large dog is suspected of causing the present trouble, and although careful plans have been made during the last few days the worrying has continued. Last night the dog worked silently, and it was not known until this morning that the flock had been molested. On Sunday morning a spaniel was shot at the park, and a similar fate awaits any dogs found worrying the sheep. There are 700 ewes in the Cornwall Park flock, and about another 700 on the One Tree Hill area adjoining. Both flocks have sulfered during the week. There are about 100 lambs, the majority having been disposed of recently.
