OBITUARY
LATE CAPTAIN OLPHERT By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, January 9. A representative gathering of shipping interests, naval and merchant, attended the funeral on Saturday of Captain Olphert. The body lay in state on Friday night at divisional headquarters, Royal Naval Reserve, and from there was taken to St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral. The casket was carried by six petty officers from the Naval Reserve.
MRS WILLIAM TAYLOR Unlleo Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received January 10, 12.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 9 The death is announced of Mrs Marion Hannah Taylor, wife of William Taylor, New Zealand trade and tourist commissioner in Sydney. Mrs Taylor had been ill for some months. Although a native of New South Wales Mrs Taylor lived for many years in Wellington and Auckland, with her parents. Her father, the Rev. Robert J. Inglis, a former Presbyterian minister in those cities, is now resident in Sydney. Mrs Taylor, who was closely identified with New Zealand social organisations in Sydney, leaves a son and two daughters.
