CHILD'S DEATH
SUFFOCATED BY PETROL FUMES By Telegraph—Press Association HASTINGS, January 7. As a result of drinking petrol from a small bottle, Ngaire Gedye, aged four years, died yesterday afternoon in Hastings. The child with two others a few years older entered a woodshed, where she found a small bottle containing benzine, which her father used for replenishing a cigarette lighter. It is understood that the child swallowed about a tablespoonful and was suffocated by the fumes.
