PORT OF TIMARU

LATEST ADVICES The port was busy yesterday when two overseas vessels and three coastal ships were in the harbour. The Pyman Line tramp Parraeombe arrived in the morning from Lyttelton and was berthed at No. 2 wharf where she discharged about 230 tons of newsprint from Liverpool, Nova Scotia. She sailed last night for Dunedin. The Port Hobart continued loading wool and dariy produce for London at No. 1 wharf and will sail to-day for Lytteltorf. The Storm returned from Lyttelton to load another 1200 bales of wool and sailed last night for Lyttelton, where she will tranship to the Empire Star. The Gale from Dunedin took Wellington, Picton and Wanganui cargo before proceeding to Lyttelton and the Waipahi arrived last night from Oamaru to lift Wellington, Napier and Gisbprne shipments, sailing later via Lyttelton.

NOTES The Holmdale is now due this evening from Oamaru. After loading for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui she is to sail for Lyttelton. The Karu should be another arrival this evening from Oamaru. She will take Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth cargo before proceeding to Lyttelton. The Breeze is scheduled to arrive from Dunedin to-morrow for Wellington and Wanganui loading. Later she will depart via Lyttelton. Kaikoura Listed According to present schedules the M.A.N.Z. Line vessel Kaikoura will visit Timaru early next month to discharge and load New York, Boston and Halifax cargo. She is due at Auckland on January 21 and will proceed via Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. It is expected she will reach Timaru about February 4.
