SERIOUS CHARGE
REMAND GRANTED By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, January 5. In the Police Court, John Edward McElroy, charged with, on Decemb.25, unlawfully killing Constable James Butler, thereby committing manslaughter, and further with assaulting Constable Butler, was remanded in custody till January 12. Constable Butler died in hospital on Sunday last.
