POLLUTION OF PAREORA RIVER
To the Editor ot “ The Timaru Herald
Sir, —Through your columns I would like to draw the attention of those concerned, about the pollution of the Pareora River. For some considerable time someone has been in the habit of dumping refuse such a fowls’ insides, heads, feet .etc., over the side of the traffic bridge into the best swimming and fishing hole in the river. This portion of the river is now unfit for either purpose. Sir, it is time this disgraceful practice was stopped, and if not I hope the authorltlon will take action against such person or persons concerned. Hoping to see an improvement in the future.—l am, etc., THOMAS CLEAN Pareora, January 5.
