Sir John Anderson, .'.ho has returned to England at the end of his term as Governor of Bengal, and who was made a Privy Councillor in the New Year honours, will stand as a National Government candidate in the by-election for the Scottish Universities seat caused by the death of Mr Ramsay MacDonald.
