DEATH OF JOCKEY By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON N.. January 5. The case was a very unus a n d nothing could have been done by an operation, said Dr Pullar, patLeologist at the Palmerston North Hospital giving evidence at an inquest this morning into the death of Clifford James Plier, apprentice jockey, of Hastings, on December 30. Other evidence disclosed that deceased suffered a fall previously, but the witness said death was not accelerated by the head injuries received at that time, the cause being rupture of an hydatid cyst into the heart. Deceased was found unconscious ’i the stables at the Awapuni Racecourse during the summer meeting. His parents are residing here. The Coroner’s verdict was in accordance with the medical evidence.
