IMPORTANT PLANS IN ENGLAND United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 4. Details of a programme of scientific research were approved at a joint meeting of the International Wool Publicity and Research Secretariat, which includes Mr F. S. Arthur (New Zealand), and an Advisory Committee including Mr F. Du Toit (South Africa) and Mr R. S. Forsyth (New Zealand). The programme will be put into operation as soon as it has been considered by the executive committee.
Some of the more important problems of economic research will be Investigated immediately. Preliminary detailed plans were approved for a wool pavilion at the Glasgow Exhibition.
A draft for co-ordinating the activities of the Secretariat with those of the international wool textile organisation was also accepted for submission to the executive committee. The establishment of a joint technical committee is contemplated to enable the producers and manufacturers to discuss common problems.
