LOVE LOCKED OUT
AN ANGRY HUSBAND A Paris postman who found himself locked out of his house by his wife summoned the fire brigade and then the police. Returning from his rounds, the postman rang his front door bell for his wife to open the door, but received no answer. He kicked the door and shouted, but still received no response. He was becoming desperate when his wife called out to say that she did not intend to open the door. Exasperated, the postman ran to the nearest fire alarm, broke the glass, and pulled the alarm signal. Nothing happened. Then he rushed to the police alarm signal and summoned the | police. Four gendarmes and a sergeant : 'irived by car, and the postman ex- ’ ilained the position. The sergeant iStened patiently. Then he announced j hat the police had no right to break ’ rto the house—and told the postman ; ae would have to pay for breaking the I glass of two alarm boxes and the bill for the policemen’s journey.
