BALLOON BARRAGE
PART OF AERIAL DEFENCE United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, December 30. The “Daily Telegraph” reports that balloon barrage squadrons, each of 400 men, are being raised early in 1938 to protect British cities against air raids. Each balloon will be manned by from seven to nine men, including three Royal Aii Force technicians, who will direct the others in lowering and raising the balloons by winches and cables.
