SOUTHLAND TO LEAVE «. NEXT MONTH Unitea Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, January 2 Miller’s Towages, Ltd., of Shanghai, have purchased the tug Southland, at Dunedin. She will leave in February for Melbourne, whence she will tow another tug to Shanghai. It is understood that the buyers, a Shanghai firm, intended to use the tug for river transport and river towage. Extensive refitting will be necessary, including the fitting of new diesel engines, and this work will be done at Port Chalmers, beginning almost immediately. The vessel, which has been laid up at Port Chalmers for some years, was originally the property of the Bluff Harbour Board.
