Auckland to-morrow at 10 o’clock for i Suva. For the officers and ratings of the ship the announcement of the ' cruise came as a complete surprise ■ since, by arrangements made some i time ago. the Wellington was due to leave to-morrow on a short cruise to , Napier and Gisborne, followed by one ; to Wellington and Akaroa. Part of the duties for which the i escort vessels Wellington and Leith are ■ stationed in New Zealand consists of , service at call among the British pos- i sessions in the South Pacific, and it is explained that the Wellington’s cruise | is consistent with the discharge of these j duties.
