ENGAGEMENT OF MEN By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, November 29. A start was made to-day through the placement office to employ 212 men under the special subsidised local body scheme. During the week a further 50 will be employed by the Auckland City and Suburban Drainage Board. A drive is being made this week to induce citiz-ns to give every unemployed man in Auckland at least One day’s work before Christmas.
