INDISCRETION OF FRENCH MINISTER United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright ROME, November 26. Despite a denial by the French Minister of Marine (M. Campinchi) that he had ever said in the course of a speech at Toulon that a FrenchItalian war was not only inevitable, but necessary, the Italian Press is aflame with demands for his resignation. M. Campinchi is reported to have stated that Corsica must no longer be subject to Italian aggression. A war against Italy was inevitable and necessary, and it must end in a French victory. France was determined to defend Corsica against every aggression. An offensive would be launched there, bringing Fascism to its knees. FRENCH MINISTERS IN LONDON UNITED FRONT SUPPORTED (Received November 28, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 28. The visit of the French Prime Minister (M. Chautemps) to London is being preceded by a flood of newspaper comment chiefly on the theme that France must not make sacrifices unless assured of some counterpart for a European appeasement. The general plea is made for the maintenance of Anglo-French solidarity. WAR ON FASCISM SOVIET CO-OPERATION WITH WORKERS (Received November 28, 6.30 p.m.) MOSCOW, November 27. Following a six day conference, an agreement was signed for co-operation against war and Fascism between the Soviet’s 20,000,000 trade unionists and those represented at the Second Amsterdam Trade Union I ’ternational.
