There was a large attendance and the track was in excellent order. The totalisator handled £43,957, compared with £31,351 last year. The field moved brilliantly down the straight. Tray Bit made a strong finish to get up and defeat Peter Beckford by a nose. Galilee, a strong favourite, disappointed, being well back at the post.
