MINERS ON STRIKE
TARANAKI COLLIERY Bv Telegraph—Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH. November 25. Fifty miners employed in the Egmont Colliery Company’s coal mine at Tatu, Ohura district, have struck. It is understood that the trouble arose through the dismissal of a miner and the manager’s refusal to reinstate him. Union officials are understood to be negotiating with the company, but no indication of a settlement is yet forthcoming. The mine has been producing about 100 tons of coal a day.
