After a stay of seven days in Wellington two cruisers of the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy departed to-day on their return to the Devonport naval base, Auckland, from which they have been absent for several weeks on a southern cruise. The Leander left port at 8.40 a.m., and the Achilles at 4.45 p.m. On her way up the east coast tomorrow morning the Achilles, which was docked recently at Auckland for annual refit, will carry out her halfyearly full power steaming trial.
