CANCELLATION OF TOUR TO BE • RECONSIDERED Bv Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, November 24. The chairman of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr S. S. Dean, at a meeting of the executive to-night, gave notice that he would move at the meeting of the Council of the Union on December 10 that the decision of the Council passed at the meeting held on October 22, “That a New Zealand tour to Australia be not undertaken next year, but we would favourably consider an invitation to visit Australia in 1939,” be rescinded. Referring to a cable message which had been received from Sydney that day, Mr Dean said it was a great pity that members of the executive had communicated, with Rugby officials in Australia on the subject.
