Having broken all records as leader of the Commonwealth Government and filled more portfolios than any other man, the Australian Prime Minister (Mr Lyons) colloquially known as “Honest Joe,” revealed yesterday that in his temporary role as Minister of Defence, he wrote a letter to himself as Prime Minister in which he made certain recommendations threatening serious consequences if the Prime Minister rejected them. Mr Lyons will be in a position to announce his new Ministry in a few days. Sir Archdale Parkhill, who was defeated at the recent Federal poll, tendered I’- resignation as Minister of defence, over the week-end. Mr W. M. Hughes 's freely mentioned as successor as Minister of Defence.
