POLE COLLAPSES
ELECTRICIAN SERIOUSLY INJURED By Telegraph—Press Association WHAKATANE, November 23. The collapse of a power pole resulted in Len Ormond, an electrician in the employ of the Whakatane Borough Council, suffering a fractured skull and a fractured leg. Ormond had mounted the pole and disconnected wires to be replaced by others of higher power when the pole broke below the ground and fell on top of him. He was conveyed to the Whakatane Hospital, where his condition is reported to be serious.
