The Timaru Central Band of Hope held its Christmas party in the Lascelles Hall, Wilson Street. A goodly number of children and visitors sat down to a very enjoyable tea. Mrs Norrie was the guest of the evening. Bouquets were presented to Mrs Norrie, Mrs Head and Mrs Keen by Olga Bellam, Isa Keen, and Sylvia McArthur. Alan Spence presented buttonholes to the Rev. Russell Grave and Mr Alexander. Prizes for attendance during the year were won by Isa Keen, Sylvia McArthur, Bill Campbell, Alan Spence, Alan McArthur, Freida Houston. Ray Thomson and Olga Bellam (special prize). During the evening items were given by Margaret Auty, Laurel Huston, Margaret Spence, Margaret Thin, Jack Bellam, Olga Morris Howe, Sylvia McArthur, and Alan McArthur.
