SWIMMING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING Satisfaction that the provision of a clean water supply to the Domain baths had been accomplished was expressed at the annual meeting of the Geraldine Swimming Club on Monday evening: The president, Mr J. D. McKechnie, occupied the chair, and there was an attendance of about 20 members. The balance-sheet showed that the year had commenced with a credit of £l5/17/9 in the general account and ended with a credit of £4/6/5. The loss of more than £lO had been due to the fact that no subscriptions had been collected, and that costs connected with the raising of funds for the pure water scheme had been a charge on the general account. In the water scheme account there
was a debit of £72/19/2, and it was anticipated that a new outlet .ould have to be provided at the baths at a cost of about £lB. There was still £9O to come from the Hobson Trust fund over a period of ten years. On the motion of Messrs J. H. Lewis and J. S. Stevenson, the annual report (published Monday) and balancesheets were adopted without discussion. Mr J. D. McKechnie was unanimously re-elected to the position of president unopposed.
