OPENING FAT LAMB MARKET KEEN VALUES The outstanding feature of yesterday’s Temuka sale was the first sale of the season for fat lambs. The markets in all departments were good and heavy yardings in al] section elicited keen competition. Fat Cattle About 120 head of fat cattle wire offered to a full bench of butchers, the sale being fully the equal of late values. Prices were:—

Eggs Market firmer. English, national p: :k, 21/6 to 25/-; English, ordinary pack, 22/6 to 23/6; Danish. 13/3 to 17/-; Australian. 11/- to 13/6. Fruit Apples: Market quiet and steady. Californian Newtowns, 10/6 to 11/-; Washington Jonathans, 8/- to 10/-; British Columbian Jonathans, 7/6 to 10/-; Newtown Pippins. 10/- to 10/6; Dr’icous, few at 10/-; Winesap, 8/6 to 9/6. Pears: Steady demand. Californian Doyen du Comice, 15/- to 18/-; Winter Nells, 13/- to 14/6; Beurre Bose, 13/to 14/-.

SULPHIDE CORPORATION Bv Telegraph- ’ress Association WELLINGTON, November 23. Hie Sulphide Corporation has advised the Stock Exchange Association that the head office cables that the directors will recommend at the annual meeting a dividend of 2/- a share on preference shares and 16a share on ordinary shares, payable on December 21. Income tax at the rate of 4/6 in the £ has to be deducted from the amounts.
