LOST AIRMAN

Whitehead, who arrived In Sydney yesterday after a leisurely flight from England, said that a search party led by airmen will shortly leave Burma for an island about 15 mßes off the coast to search for the wreckage of the late Sir Charles KingsfordSmith’s plane Those undertaking the search are so convinced that the plane crashed into the sea near an unmapped island in the Bay of Bengal, that they have arranged for divers to join the expedition so that the sea bed in the vicinity may be thoroughly searched.
