AMALGAMATION DISCUSSED By Telegraph—Pres? AaaoclatloD NELSON, November 22. The proposed amalgamation of certain road motor services in the Nelson province was the subject of a public inquiry held to-day in the Council Chambers before Mr T. H. Langford, Commissioner. Representations were recently made to the Minister of Transport concerning the possible effects of the proposal on the fruit industry. After hearing the evidence, the Commissioner adjourned the inquiry, which will be resumed in the nature of a round table conference probably at Mapua within a week. General agreement with the broad principle of amalgamation was expressed by all parties.
