IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch— The weather was fine and sunny yesterday, a moderate north-west wind changing to strong south-west in the early afternoon, but this dropped at 6 p.m, and a northeast wind sprang up. The maximum temperature was 75.8 degrees. The barometer read 29.781 n at 5 p.m. and was then rising. Ashburton— Bright sunshine prevailed over the week-end in Ashburton, and continued yesterday, when the sky was cloudless, and a moderate breeze blew from the south-west. Geraldine— Bright and tine in the morning, dull and overcast later. Light northerly wind in morning, veering to south-west, moderate to strong for a short period. Temuka — After a fine warm morning the afternoon was cold with a strong southerly wind. The maximum temperature was 70 degrees and the minimum 42. The glass was rising last evening. Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9 am. yesterday)—Thermometer, maximum 68, minimum 46; bright sunshine, 3 hours 12 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 65. Yesterday was bright and sunny in the morning, but became overcast and cold about noon.

Dunedin— The sky was dill! and overcast for the greater part of the day and in the early morning light rain fell. A moderate breeze from the south-west kept the temperatures fairly cool, the maximum being 58 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.85 inches.
