While heavy race traffic was returning to Auckland from Te Rapa on Saturday night, a collision occurred at Papakura between a large horse float and a car, the driver of which, Miss Lena Foote, aged about 43, of Mt. Eden, suffered concussion, head injuries and a fracture of the right elbow. Her condition is reported to be serious. Falling over on to its side after the impact, the horse float completely blocked the road.
