Nov. 26, 12.4 a.m CONDITIONS IN TIMARU Warm and pleasant weather favoured Timaru during the week-end, conditions more particularly on Saturday, being clear and sunny. A strong southerly arose in the afternoon, however, and there was a consequent drop in temperature. Yesterday was more clouded, but the temperature was mild and in the evening there was a hint of a nor'-wester. Records at Timaru Park on Saturday were:— Barometer —29.71. Max. temp.—66.2. Min. temp.—3l.9. Frost—.l degree. Wind—N.E. 3 (later S.E. 4). Rainfall—Nil. Sunshine —8.2 hours. Records at Timaru Park yesterday were:— Barometer—29.6l. Max. temp.—64.B. Min. temp on grass—33.2. IN OTHER CENTRES Christchurch: A light north-west wind blew yesterday and temperatures were warm. The sun shone nearly all day. The barometer fell to 29.9 inches at 5.30 p.m. The weather on Saturday was changeable and showery, though temperatures were mild and there was some sun. Ashburton: There was bright sunshine on Saturday following the heavy rain on Friday. The sky in the morning was almost cloudless and the temperature was warm and pleasant. There was a light north-easterly wind. Geraldine: Saturday, bright sunshine throughout the day. Yesterday, bright and fine. Temuka: Moderate temperatures prevailed during the week-end. The maximum temperatures were 69 deg. on Saturday and 68 deg. yesterday, while the minimum recordings weie respectively 32 and 36 degrees. The gl°c3 had a falling tendency last evening. Dunedin: The sky was overcast fbr the greater part of Saturday and in the morning there were one or two showers which, however, were of short duration. Conditions were more settled ; n the afternoon and temperatures were mild, the maximum for the day being 63 degrees. There was little wind and the barometer was showing a falling tendency at night. Yesterday there was intermittent sunshine in the morning but later the sky was overcast and rain fell. There was a light breeze from the south-west. The maximum temperature was 65 degrees. The barometer fell to 29.92 degrees but rose during the afternoon.
