PORT OF TIMARU

LATEST ADVICES The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Cumberland arrived on Saturday afternoon from Port Chalmers and was berthed at No. 1 wharf. Today she will discharge general cargo from the West Coast ports of the United Kingdom and will load for London before sailing for Wellington to-morrow. The Port Waikato arrived from Dunedin on Saturday and, after loading Wellington and Auckland cargo, departed for Lyttelton. The only other arrival during the week-end was the Holmglen, which reached Tlmaru from Dunedin yesterday and to-day is to load for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato.

She should sail that evening for Lyttelton. The Waiana should now be here on Wednesday to load for Wellington and Auckland. She is due from Dunedin and is to proceed hence to Wellington. The Wainul will be another arrival cn Wednesday. After lifting Wellington, Napier and Cisborne shipments she is to sail for Lyttelton. Tamaroa’s Final Port The Tamaroa’s final port of loading will now be Lyttelton. The Shaw. Savill and Albion Company has advised that her Homeward loading itinerary will now be Port Chalmers, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton; she is now at Auckland, and is due at Wellington on November 29. She will leave on December 1 for Lyttelton, and will sail finally from that port on December 3 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. The City of Glasgow The City of Glasgow, from Montreal via Northern ports, is now expected at Dunedin on December 7 to complete discharge and commence loading. She is to sail the following day for aff, Auckland, Napier, and Wellington to complete. Newton Elm Sold Advice has been received of the sale of the steamer Newton Elm, which visited New Zealand recently, discharging Australian timber. The Newton Elm, of 4228 tons gross, was owned by the Tyneside Line Ltd., and she has been purchased by the Arion Steamship Company Ltd., London, for £67,500, with survey passed.
