New ideas are being exploited in the making at modern jewellery. The collection shown here, which has been recently imported from Czechoslovakia, shows some lovely pieces. The girl wears a string of large beads and brooch made in a luminous red shade— something quite unique. The brooch is finished in gilt chromium. Delicate tiny milk beads are plaited into a necklace (top left) and at intervals clusters of tiny coral bells hang. At top right is a wide milky white carved bone bracelet, hinged on either side. The little comb is jewelled to match the large gilt filigree brooch beneath it. At lower left is a collection of little animal bone buttons. At centre right is a group of varied bracelets, the uppermost ones being of coloured composition and gilt. The lowest is flexible gilt chromium.
