Hair Dignity Newest Styles
r FHERE is an air of dignity in some of the newest hairdressing styles. The hair brushed upwards into a long curl that rolls away from the brow, or into a group of curls that sweep up and back to reveal forehead and ears, gives an impression of height and graciousness. Feathers and flowers are both called into use for “top-knots'* to adorn these heads of curls in the evening and add a little more to their height. Ear Ornaments.
As more ears are on show nowadays, with the upward tendency of hairdressing, more ear ornaments arc in demand, especially those of the not-so-precious variety that depend on their novelty more than their intrinsic value for their success. Tiny bows of dull gilt make an attractive pair of car-clips. Hairbrush Care.
Hairbrushes must have frequent washing and the protection of the backs is sometimes difficult. Mackintosh covers for the back of hairbrushes to save them from injury can now be obtained. They fit over closely and make perfect “bath-ing-caps,” while the bristles are being dipped. If the brush-backs are enamelled and liable to be scratched, the covers are also useful for protecting them while travelling.
Fire-proof Eggcups. Fireproof china egg-cups are additions to cooking ware. You cook the egg in it as well as serving the egg in it. You break your egg into it, screw on the lid of the little cup. boil it in the usual way, then bring it to table as it is. The egg can, of course, be flavoured before cooking. Beauty Box.
A beauty box designed and packed with a thought for the especial needs of the busy business woman is a -fine present for anyone who comes into this category. It is supposed to fit into a corner of an office drawer, all ready for the reparations of the looks during the day. A mirror that stands up, an eyecup and a comb are included among the contents of the box.
