THE LAWS OF "BOWLS” Size and Bias In th« case of a tournament, the “bowl” or “bowls" objected to by an opponent shall, at the conclusion of the game, be taken possession of by the Secretary of the tournament, wnc shall have the same forthwith “tested” by two of the umpires of the tournament. It they cannot ag.ee, they shall call in another of the umpires, who must be a neutral person, to determine whether the objection is "frivolous"; but if there be reasonable ground for doubt, the "bowl” or “bowls” shall at once be sent to one of the officers of the Association, to be tested by him. (This looks like shepherding for free drinks). The officer shall test and return without delay all “bowls” thus sent to him, and shall also send to the Secretary of the tournament a written report of the result of the test. The decision ©f the umpires, oversman, or officer, as the case may be, shall be final. The objector shall lodge with the Secretary of the tournament the sum of ten shillings and to cover the “expense” of testing and to discourage frivolous objections, (another slinter), which sum shall be returned to him if his objection be sustained, and in that case the Secretary of the tournament shall recover said fee from the player of the "bowl" or "bowls” So that’s why Inkson got himself elected Scratchetary of the “Bowling” Tournament 1 Bowlers Send stamped addressed envelope to N.Z.
