VISIT TO MOTHER?
SECRET MOVEMENTS OF DUKE OF WINDSOR United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph Copyright LONDON, October 17. It is rumoured on the Continent that the Duke of Windsor paid a brief secret visit to England. He is reported to have arrived by air at a small aerodrome on the south coast, but he did not leave the cabin of the aeroplane. He was visited by Queen Mary, who arrived in a closed car. The “Sunday Reieree,” referring to the rumour, points out that the Duke of Windsor visited the Paris Exhibition on October 5, but no news of his movements was published on Octqber 6 and 7. Queen Mary during this period was staying with Lord and Lady Athlone near Horsham, in Sussex.
