SHOPS DAMAGED
FIRE AT BLENHEIM. By Telegrapb —Pres? Asßoctatiar. BLENHEIM, October 18. The efficiency of the fire brigade late on Saturday rfternoon prevented an outbreak of fire sweeping one of Blenheim’s most extensive blocks of wooden shops. The outbreak originated in the workshop of M. A. Wiffen, radio serviceman, and extended to the Chinese laundry. The rear of these premises was damaged, and a third shop occupied by J. O'Sullivan and Son, bootmakers was affected by smoke and water. A considerable quantity of linen suffered damage in the laundry.
