SERIOUS INJURIES
ACCIDENT AT MAKIKIHI A serious a-cident occurred on the property of Messrs Darroch and Girdler, Flag Swamp, below the Makiklhl railway station, yesterday afternoon. Mr Girdler, who was working a scutching machine at the flax mill on the property, was struck by a •tog piece of machinery and badly injured about the face and shoulders. Mr Girdler, who is a single man, was conveyed to the Walmate Hospital where an operation was performed. His condition last evening was serious.
