LIRGE MARKET VALUES MAINTAINED Large entries in all sections were forward for the stock sale held yesterday at the Pleasant Point saleyards. The market for every department was very firm and a complete clearance was made. Fat Cattle The beef yarding of more than 139 head contained some well finished steers. There was a good proportion of medium quality beef but all grades met with the keenest competition. The range was:—

Few good colours were ineluded in the yarding. Values were:— . 15/- to 20/- . 18/- to 26/Fat Sheep The fat sheep market was well supplied, nevertheless the assistance of outside buyers helped to keep the market right up to the good values ruling last week. The range was:— Fat wethers (best) .. 37/- to 40/1 Fat wethers med.) 33/10 to 35/Fat wethers .. 30/- to 31/7 Fat ewes (extra good) 40/- to 45/7 Fat ewes (prime) 35/- to 38/7 Fat ewes (medium) .. 28/- to 33/1 Fat ewes (light) .. .. 18/- to 24/-Fn-t ewes (shorn) best 27/- to 30/1 Fat ewes (shorn) light 24/Store Sheep The store sheep sale was on a par with late rates. Prices were:— Ewe hoggets 34/- to 36/7 .Wether hoggets .. .. 21/7 to 22/10 'Ewes and lambs .. .. 10/6 to 16/Horses There was ample evidence that there was a keen demand for quality draughts. Bw’ers attended from all parts of the district and quite a number did not fill thenrequirements.
