RIFLE EXPLODES
FARMER FATALLY INJURED By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN. October 5. Shot in the head by a bullet from a rifle which he was carrying as he was getting through a fence on his property, James Armitage, a widower, aged 34, who farmed at Blackstone Hill, died in the Maniototo Hospital at 8.30 tonight. At the time of the accident Armitage was engaged in going round his sheep. He was found by a rabbiter at 12.30 and taken to hospital.
