The Port Waikato should be here tomorrow from the south to load for Wellington and Auckland. The Gale is listed to arrive tomorrow from Dunedin for Wellington and Wanganui loading. The Breeze, on the Wellington, Picton and Wanganui run, is due on Saturday from the south.

The Waipahi is expected to take Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth cargo from Timaru on Saturday. Sussex at Auckland The Federal Line motor ship Sussex, 11,062 tons (Captain Ashworth), arrived at Auckland from Liverpool via Panama, after a fast passage of 31 days, one of the best yet made between the two ports. She is on her maiden voyage, having been built by Messrs John Brown and Company especially for the New Zealand run. She is 530 ft long. 70ft beam, and has two sets of oil engines of 6500 horse power each. The fastest time for a cargo vessel from New Zealand to London was made by the Australia Star in 28 days 12 hours 15 minutes in the run from Port Chalmers. The Sussex is to discharge cargo at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, being due there about October 22.

New Union Freighters To supplement other orders for new ships, the Union Steam Ship Company Ltd. has placed an order in Scotland for two more cargo steamers for the Australian trade. They will be named the Komata and Kurow, and each will be 335 ft in length, with a beam of 51ft, a depth of 28ft, a carrying capacity of 4800 tons dead weight, and a designed speed of 13 knots. Famous Whaler Renamed One of the best-known whaling ships in the world, the 10,000-ton factory steamer Sir James Clark Ross, has been renamed Uniwaleco by her present owner, the Union Whaling Company Ltd., of Durban. She was built at Belfast in 1905 as the Mahronda. and later bore the names of Sir James Clark Ross and Fratemitas. New Hol/man Freighter The new motor ship Lorinna, which is being built in Glasgow for the Bass Strait freight service operated by Wll- . liam Holyman and Sons Pty. Ltd., is nearing comp'ition.
