DIVISION OF SHARES PROPOSED By Telegraph —Pres? Association AUCKLAND, October 4 A proposal that the existing ■£l shares of the South British Insurance Coy., Ltd., should be divided into two fully paid-up 10/- shares is to be submitted to the shareholders at a special meeting after the annual meeting. An addition ot the articles of association also is proposed in the form of a machinery clause dealing with the payment of any dividend or bonus. MINING NEWS By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. October 4 The Mataki return , for the week was 230 z. for 107 hours’ work. DUNEDIN, October 4 The Clutha Gold Dredging Company reports that for the week ended October 1 the dredge worked 126 hours and recovered 4330 z, of gold. This is the highest return to date, the previous best being 380 oz. for 133 hours on August 20. For the five months that the dredge has been operating it has won 40600 z. of gold.
