ANNUAL BALL
OTIPUA BACHELORS AND SPINSTERS A most successful dance was held in the Otipua Hall last Friday night, when the bachelors and spinsters held their annual ball. The stage had been decorated with greenery and streamers were used for decorating the hall. ‘ The grand march was led by the secretaries, Miss M. Godwin and Mr A. ’ Tate, the former wearing a frock of i blue and white floral taffeta. A ‘‘belle ‘ of the ball” competition was won r»y Miss Ivy Small who was wearing a beautiful gown of satin with a tunic „ top of lace in a lavender shade. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss ’ J. Ivey and Mr A. Hill, and first on the floor by Miss E. Arden and Mr R. Jackson. Cards were held for nondancers the winners being Mrs J. McKenna and Mr W. Hill. The music for the dance was supplied by a Timaru orchestra with extras by Misses M. Evans and E. Arden. Mr G. Hoare was M. Those present included: Mr and Mrs E. W. Stowell.. Mr and Mrs E.
