CAR SOMERSAULTS INTO STREAM
DRIVER KILLED By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON N„ August 24. A Bunnythorpe farmer, John Thomas, drove his car through the approach to the Mangaone stream bridge on Milson’s Line, Palmerston North, this evening, to somersault to death in the stream bed 25 feet below. Why the car should have left the road is hard to understand, as the highway is straight for a mile on each side of the bridge. When discovered, the car was lying on its side In two feet of water. Thomas, who was killed outright, leaves a widow and a grown up family of three sons and four daughters.
