Mr M. D. Studholme (Waimate) is staying at the Grand. Mr Bernard Tripp will leave for Wellington to-day to attend a meeting of the Wool Publicity Board. Messrs L. Engelandcr, J. Petrie, A. V. Just (Christchurch) and W. A. Fraser (Wellington) are staying at the Empire. Mr C. Pilling, sub-accountant at the Christchurch branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, has been appointed manager of the bank's branch at Mosgiel. Messrs A. L. Joyce, D. Manson, H. B. Catherwood, N. E. Tingey, P. Sherlock, R. Rowsell (Christchurch) F. S. Hall and A. D. Haig (Dunedin) are staying at the Grosvenor. Messrs W. E. Cranston, G. D. Stuart, B. Aleck, F. Grigg, W. Robinson, F. Richards, F. Pawson, E. J. Woodbury (Christchurch) and C. W. Collie (Dunedin) are staying at the Dominion. Mr D. Simpson, M.A., a member of the staff of the Dunedin North Intermediate School, has been appointed assistant in charge of the model school In the Kelbum Normal School, Wellington. The Highfield Bowling Club at last night’s meeting passed a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr John Goldie, a former member of the club, and the late Mr A. Thoreau, for many years secretary of the South Canterbury Bowling Centre. Mr Gordon Turvey, who has been appointed to act as organising secretary for the Toe H movement in New Zealand, is to arrive from England by the Rangitane to-day. Mr Turvey was formerly Toe H secretary for the north-western area of England, being stationed at Liverpool.
