Mr and Mrs D. C. Robertson, Riverten, are staying at the Dominion.

Mrs Percy Davies, Cameron Street, is the guest of her mother Mrs A. J. Jones, Pendalton.

Miss June Wright, Christchurch, is the guest of Miss Marion Hay, Wai-iti Road.

Mrs W. H. Hiett. Dunedin, who was staying with Mrs James Bruce, Cain Street, and left for Christchurch on Friday will arrive in Ashburton to-day.

Mrs W. Pinckney, “Glenaray,” Southland, who is or ?. visit to Christchurch, will arrive to-day to stay with Mrs J. M. Tripp, “Silverton,” Woodbury. Miss Joan Maling, Christchurch, will arrive to-day to stay with Mrs StoneWigg, Walhi School, Winchester, for the Hunt ball and races.

Mrs Melville Riley, Lake Hawea, who is staying with her mother, Mrs C. A. Paterson, Sefton Street, will return south to-day.

The Misses Ratahi and Patricia Parker, “Holbrook,” Mackenzie Country, will arrive on Friday to stay with Mrs A. Fleming, Selwyn Street, for the Hunt Club festivities.

Mr Justice Northcroft and Mrs Northcroft, Christchurch, are staying at the Grosvenor. His Honour will preside over a sitting of the Supreme Court which opens in Timaru to-day. Mr and Mrs S. Chaffey, Mt. Possession, and Mr and Mrs R. Cracroft Wilson, Christchurch, will arrive on Friday to stay with Mrs E. P. Chapman, Salisbury, for the Hvnt ball. The engagement is announced of Lawrie Margaret second daughter of Mr W. R. Brookland and the late Mrs Brookland, Evans Street, and James, third son of Mr Cosgrove and the late Mrs Cosgrove, Timaru.

At the annual conference held in Wellington last week, Mrs B. E. Evans, Maungati, was re-elected to the Dominion Advisory Board of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union.

There was a fair attendance at the weekly euchre party held by the Makiklhi hall committee. The prizes were won by Miss D. Moss and Mr J. Shea. Mr A. Wells acted as M.C. for the dance and the music was played ny Mrs Barrie.

Mrs Endell Wanklyn, and Mrs Derrick Gould, Christchurch, arrived yesterday on a short visit to Mrs John Barker, Four Peaks. Mr and Mrs Gould will be the guests of Mrs H. Sinclair-Thomson, Hampton House, LeCren’s Terrace for the Hunt ball and races.
