ROUGH WEATHER
WELLINGTON’S EXPERIENCE By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, July 18. The weather yesterday and through the night was some of Wellington’s roughest this winter, but conditions are now improving. Neither, road, rail, air nor sea services were seriously interrupted, and the electric power, which usually suffers in gales, experienced no trouble. A slip on the Western Hutt Road has blocked it, cutting off access to the Manor Park golf links.
The worst of the storm was about midnight, with driving, heavy rain from the south, and a gusty wind reaching 61 miles per hour. Motor vehicle drivers had a difficult time, and there were minor accidents, but nothing serious. Tlie Kaitoa put back, and did not leave for Nelson till this morning.
