FATAL RESULT
INJURY RECEIVED AT HINT MEETING Mr Robin Cracroft Harper, elder son of Mr H. J. C. Harper, “Grassy Hills,' Waimate, died last evening as a result of injuries received whei. his mount, Le Chicot, fell with him in the Amateur Cup Steeplechase at the Waimate Hunt Club’s race meeting on Saturday The accident happened at the double in front of the stands. It did not appear that Mr Harper suffered anything more serious than a dislocated shoulder, but evidently his hurt was more serious and later he was removed to the Waimate Private Hospital, where his death occurred. Mr Harper, who was 25, was ec 1cated at the Timaru Boys’ High School and Christ’s College, and ever since leaving college had been engaged cn his father’s property. He was a keen follower of hounds, and for the last six years had ridden in amateur events at Hunt Club meetings in Canterbury. Mi Harper also was interested in the defence movement, and held the ran v of lieutenant in the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry.
