MILE RUNNER’S RECOVERY

THE BRITISH CHAMPION Now that he has recovered from the Injury to his foot, there is every hope that S. C. Wooderson, the British champion mile-runner, will regain his premier place over the distance. Appearing for the first time since his collapse in the Olympic Games in Berlin last year, he was impressively successful in a race at the Kinnaird Trophy meeting at the Wlite City, and later on he may accomplish an outstanding performance.

On his return from Germany it was found that Wooderson had broken a bone in his ankle, and he did not attempt to run again until recently. He has received an invitation to visit America and compete in another “Mile of the Century" contest, but he is not likely to accept. As a matter of fact, it is understood that he is not sure whether he will continue to concentrate on the mile distance. He may decide to make the half-mile his distance, and his wonderful speed would serve him well in this.
