Showery with fitful sunshine throughout the day. Fresh south-west wind. Temuka: Yesterday was cold with Intermittent showers throughout the day. Eleven points of rain were registered up to 4 p.m. yesterday. The maximum shade temperature was 42 degrees and the minimum 26. The glass was rising last evening. Waimate (24 hours ended 9 a.m. Friday): Thermometer, max. 50.0, min. 39.0; rain, 16 points; bright sunshine, 4 hours 18 minutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 129. Yesterday was cold and showery. Dunedin: The sky was overcast and in the afternoon several sharp showers fell. There was no wind and temperatures were mild, the maximum being 47 degrees. The barometer rose to 30.45 inches. CANTERBURY FORECAST Wind—Light to moderate southwesterly, becoming variable during Saturday. Weather—Becoming fine and temperatures rather milder during the week-end. Seas—Rough at first north of Kaikoura, but otherwise moderate.
